Why Naga Kala
What we bring to the bench
Transparent Assessment
Every watch receives a clear, written condition note before any work begins. You decide what proceeds — we never push for additional tasks.
Work at the Right Pace
Fine work takes time. Restoration and servicing are completed carefully, not rushed. Realistic timelines are shared when you drop off your watch.
Service Assurance
Completed work carries a service assurance period. If a covered issue arises after collection, we address it without hesitation.
Respectful of Originality
Patina and original parts have real value. We discuss preservation choices with each owner and never alter a watch beyond what has been agreed.
Specialised Tooling
Watchmaking requires dedicated instruments. The bench at Naga Kala is equipped for both modern calibres and older movements that need careful handling.
Clear Communication
Questions are always welcome. Updates on your watch's progress can be requested at any time, and we explain our findings in plain language.
Is your watch due for some attention?
Bring it along or send us a message — we'll take a look and let you know what, if anything, it may need. No obligation follows an assessment.
Common Questions
Things people often ask
How do I know which service my watch needs?
We'll assess your watch first and share our findings before any decision is needed. Most owners find the routine maintenance tier covers their needs well; the more detailed options are there when a watch has been sitting unused or requires cosmetic or structural care.
How long does a service typically take?
Routine maintenance is often completed within a few days. Dial work takes somewhat longer depending on what is needed. Vintage restorations are more involved and can take several weeks — we'll give you an honest estimate when we've had a chance to look at the piece.
Will you suggest work I haven't asked for?
Only if we notice something that may become a problem. We'll mention it in our condition note, but the choice of whether to address it is always yours. There is no pressure attached to any recommendation we make.
Do you handle inherited or sentimental watches?
Yes, and we treat them with the care they deserve. We take time to understand what the watch means to you before discussing what work, if any, might be appropriate. Preserving original parts and patina is something we take seriously.
Are the quoted prices fixed?
The prices shown are the starting rates for each service tier. If a watch requires additional parts or more work than the standard scope, we'll discuss the cost with you before proceeding. Nothing is added to your bill without prior agreement.
Can I visit the workshop to discuss my watch in person?
Certainly. We're at 92 Mun Mueang Road in the Si Phum area of Chiang Mai. Drop-in visits are welcome during workshop hours, and we're glad to have a conversation about your watch with no obligation to leave it with us.
